A family tree, of sorts.
Imagine a room in a big old castle. There’s a fire roaring in a cavernous fireplace. The wall behind it stretches out of sight, into the darkness above. The wallpaper is almost completely obscured by frames of all shapes and sizes. Each frame holds a painting. Paintings of ancestors and stories, of dragons and owls, and ships at sea. Together they trace a bloodline back to its roots.
