Ten hand-sewn textile acorns with real acorn caps are strung on metallic-gold cord to make the sweetest little garland.

Acorns are about 1” to 1.25” in diameter and are filled with organic cotton batting. Made with an assortment of colors in silk and linen textiles.

Hemp cord loop is attached to each acorn and acorns can easily be un-looped from the garland string, if you’d like to use them individually as ornaments or gift charms.

Garland cord is approximately 38” in length.

My acorn story…

While walking Alice one day, we happened upon the largest acorn caps I’ve ever seen. The squirrels had feasted on the nuts and the ground was covered in caps. I collected a few, and we continued on. Each day I would collect a few more, not knowing what I’d do with them. I found that even on days that I’d say to Alice, “I think we have enough”, I’d still scoop up a couple and tuck them in my pocket. I loved them so much, I couldn’t walk past without taking at least one. After a couple of weeks, I had quite a few in a bowl on my worktable, and decided to pull out my jewel-toned silks and linens. It was a cozy project to work on each night before bed. I often think about how the things I make are infused with the energy of what I was feeling and thinking at the time I was making them. These little acorns will always remind me of walking with Alice and seeing our darling squirrel friends. The happy knowing that their bellies were full from these beautiful offerings of Mother Nature.
