Green Agate Tuareg Ring Necklace

80.00

An old handmade silver and green Agate ring from the Tuareg Tribe of Northern Africa hangs on a thin leather cord. Simply strung with ten handmade silver African beads.

The Tuareg are a nomadic tribe and are the principal inhabitants of the Saharan interior of North Africa. Rings like these with Agate & Carnelian stones have been found in the Sahara desert as far back as 6000 BC and have been used as necklaces, hair pendants, rings, and other personal adornments - worn by men and women.

This ring is roughly 70 years old.

The ring is approximately .75" x 1.25"

Loop is approximately 24" – slips over head. Leather cord is knotted at the back of the neck.

Beautiful worn alone or layered with other necklaces from my collection.

Will arrive packaged in a hand dyed muslin pouch.
