An antique amulet from early 1900s India, picturing the monkey god Hanuman, is the focal point of this necklace.
Strung on a grey-green braided cotton cord that has been naturally dyed with pomegranate rinds and iron salts.
The amulet is made from old coin silver and is flanked by handmade silver plated beads from Africa.
Hanuman is one of the most celebrated and worshipped figures in Indian religion. His devotion to Lord Rama was unconditional and therefore he is regarded as a perfect symbol of selflessness and loyalty.
